Marketing & Communications Consultancy

From 1991 until the beginning of 2018, JWA Prague s.r.o. (‘JWA’) was one of the longest established and respected PR and marketing agencies in the Czech Republic, and its founder and managing director, Jo Weaver, one of the best known and experienced marketing professionals in the country.

In 2018, with Jo Weaver becoming more and more in demand as a marketing consultant, JWA was restructured, and today it is the operating company for Jo’s own marketing consultancy. 

Since the company’s restructuring, Jo has focused on providing marketing and communications consultancy to both major international companies and local SMEs, bringing in additional specialists where necessary (for example, for graphic design, online marketing, etc).  Her own expertise includes:

  • Marketing and communication strategy – identifying, preparing and implementing
  • Crisis management – preparation of crisis management manuals, materials, strategy, acting as a corporate spokesperson, etc
  • Advising on and assisting with business development
  • Sports marketing/agency – sponsorships (individual and company), strategy (individual and company), etc
  • Training – media, marketing, customer relations, sales
  • Copywriting (in English)

During her years in charge of JWA, Jo was often requested by companies to take the role of an external ‘marketing director’ if they, themselves, did not have someone suitable in that role. In that capacity, she worked for many large companies, including:

  • Tesco Stores
  • The Augustine Hotel
  • Eastern Sugar
  • Prague International Marathon
  • 4F

It was a natural progression for her, therefore, to eventually move away from running the agency, and to ‘go it alone’’. 

Today, she acts for various companies on a freelance basis with her work ranging from ‘acting marketing director’ for a large international brand, to giving just a couple of hours’ advice a month to a small, local SME. 

In addition to her consultancy, Jo is also one of the founders and a board member of the International Business Forum (‘IBF’) on the team of judges for Superbrands in the Czech Republic, and a popular speaker on marketing, doing business in the Czech Republic, and issues relating to being a woman in business. 

At the end of 2020, Jo had her first book published: ‘100 Days in Spain – Diary of a Lockdown’.
